Late spring and summer is a great time to explore Exmoor.  The recent dry spell has improved things for walkers and riders so wellies are not essential to get about!  Exmoor ponies and Red Deer can be found on the moor and both may have youngsters amongst them.  Birds of many varieties can be both heard and seen and the riverbanks are alive with insects including dragonflies.  Many wild flowers including bluebells and orchids can be seen now and in July and August the wonderful purple heather will make its appearance.
