Court Farm offers a great base for horse riders who want to bring their own horses on holiday with them. Note that horse bookings cannot be made on-line to avoid over-booking so you must contact us direct by phone, e-mail or social media. We accept a maximum of two horses requiring stables all year round, turnout available subject to weather conditions. We can accept an additional two horses between 1st May and 30th September, turnout only. Please advise us of what horse transport you will be bringing as the narrow lanes and parking mean that we only accept a maximum of 7.5 tonne lorries at the farm.

We have two 12ft square block built stables with rubber matting and individual half-acre paddocks available for your horses. We have a menage with a natural surface available as well. We also have a small tack/feed room although we suggest that valuable tack is kept in your holiday cottage. All the holiday cottages are within 30 metres of the stable block.

We can provide hay/haylage and bedding at cost if required. The stables have rubber flooring and we currently use woodchip bedding on top.

Grazing is available in a 5-acre field adjacent to the stables. We have divided this into 7 individual paddocks for use by one or two horses at a time. The paddocks are separated by electric fencing.  Horses are charged at £12.50 per night per horse.

When it comes to riding, you can ride out directly from Court Farm onto Room Hill and on to Winsford Hill, or with a little bit of roadwork, you can easily reach Dunkery Hill or Withypool Hill with more extensive riding across Exmoor. While we don’t have horses for hire, Michele is more than happy to ride out with you and show you some of the best rides in the area so that you get the most from your holiday.
